Trigger mode Radius
1 impact(s) , Idle time out : 30 minute(s)
20 km

Idle time out:

  • A short duration (e.g. 30') allows to reduce the period of immobilization under stormy conditions if one wishes to resume one's activity as soon as possible, at the risk of a new alert being triggered
  • A long duration (e.g. 60' or more) prevents a new alert from occurring after an end of storm message
  • A duration of 45' is a compromise between more acceptable downtime and a lower probability of a new alert being triggered
Size of the surveillance area:

  • A smaller size (e.g. 15km) reduces the number of alerts and is suitable if you don't need much time to protect yourself (e.g. 10')
  • As the size increases, so does the number of alerts and the amount of advance notice. For example, with a radius of 20km, the majority of alerts are greater than 20'.
